Vintage 60s Jewel Tone Handbag Butterfly Papillon Bag Purse No. 927
Bright plastic ‘gems’ and shiny sequins and rhinestones are featured on this lovely vintage bag by Jewel Tone, with large sized butterfly and bell flower design, made from the company’s handmade kit, number 927, from 1965.
The bucket style handbag or purse is very similar to Enid Collins’ bags in design, and comprised of a black textured dupioni fabric surface, with wooden base as shown, and a butterfly or papillon adorned with red and yellow plastic cabs, faceted rhinestones, and gold braided trim.
It also has vinyl border trim along the top and base, flap closure with twist clasp, double handle straps, and a metal zippered side pocket within.
The bag measures approximately 11 inches wide across the bottom, and sits about 10&1/2 inchew high (excluding straps).
