Vintage 40s Georg Jensen Bracelet Sterling Scallop Shell
A silvery row of scalloped clam shells are featured in this finely crafted vintage link bracelet by the Georg Jensen wartime silver shop in New York, managed by Frederik Lunning, circa 1940s.
The solid weight articulated link bracelet consists of thick gauge hand wrought sterling silver seashells in a scalloped open faced shell design, with each shell holding a silver "pearl" bead.
The bracelet may possibly be the work of Alphonse LaPaglia, who was a designer at Georg Jensen U.S.A., which was founded during the German occupation of Denmark.
The beautifully constructed bracelet measures approximately 13/16 of an inch wide by 7&1/4 inches in length. It weighs a hefty 49.7 grams, and is stamped “Georg Jensen, Inc.”, “U.S.A.”, “Hand Wrought”, and “Sterling”.
