Vintage Foldaway Fan Asian Goldfish Portable Paper Hand Fan

A pretty Asian print of swimming goldfish, flowers, and butterflies are featured on this vintage double-sided portable fan by Foldaway, still in its original box, circa 1950s/60s. 

The mid-century folding hand held fan has a plastic bubblegum pink handle with embossed dragon along with “No. 204” and “Made in Hong Kong”.  It opens up into a round paper fan with Chinese fantail goldfish swimming among the reeds on one side, and flitting butterflies among large chrysanthemum flowers on the other.

The fan portion measures approximately 7&3/4 inches round, with handle measuring about 5 inches when snapped shut.

The original cardboard box is mostly intact, and reads “Foldaway Fan”, “Folds to Fit Your Handbag”, and “Keep Cool and Be Gay” – along with “Unicorn Brand” with logo on one end.
