Vintage Cantera Opal Necklace Mexican Fire Sterling Pendant
A mottled orange colored cab with fiery and semi-translucent molten center is featured in this vintage Modernist style Mexican fire or cantera opal pendant necklace, set in unmarked sterling silver with Native American picto mark.
The vivid color flashing stone has a high profile and is bezel set in unmarked silver within a larger tear drop shaped frame – and exhibits a play of rainbow colors in its luminescent center, whenever the light reflects upon it.
The pendant measures approximately 1&1/8 inches wide by just under 2 inches high, including bail, and hangs from a 24 inch box chain with spring ring clasp.
It also has an unidentified maker’s mark or guild mark which appears to be the Native American “sun cross”, consisting of a cross within a circle, and weighs a total of 20.2 grams (with chain).
