Vintage KJL Ring Rhinestone Ram’s Head Ibex Aries Antelope Gazelle Sz 4.5
So elegantly bejeweled is this vintage KJL animal head ring in the form of a ram’s head, ibex, antelope or gazelle by Kenneth Jay Lane, circa late 60s early 70s.
The rhinestone studded ring possibly represents Aries, and imitates the style of ancient Etruscan or Scythian tribal jewelry. It consists of a solidly cast horned animal head ring with polished gold plated surface, and has swirled horns and is pave set with clear faceted rhinestones and two bright emerald green glass cabs for the eyes.
The ring has an open shank as shown, measures a size 4&1/2 on my ring mandrel, weighs 18.1 grams, and is signed “K.J.L”, within an oval cartuche.
