40s Purple Jacket Art Deco Beaded Plum Ladies FLSA Jacket - S
An hourglass silhouette and striking purple color makes up this elegant vintage ladies Art Deco wartime jacket with decorative hand stitched beadwork, circa 1940’s.
The vibrant swing era jacket consists of a solid weight gabardine fabric in a rich purple plum color, and has long sleeves with turned back cuffs, notched collar, cinched waist, and decorative pleated treatment over the left shoulder and right hip with beaded trim of faceted jet black seed beads.
The jacket is also fully lined within and has the wartime label for the “Fair Labor Standards Act” (FLSA), issued by the National Recovery Board, along with embroidered labels for “Fishman’s”, “Fort Wayne”, and “Original Gotham”.
*Please note - there is a small hole on the inside left sleeve as shown (see close-up) but doesn't detract.
Otherwise, the jacket remains in very good condition, with all beadwork intact.
