Five plumb pink petals and spray of sparkling rhinestones are featured on this vintage pâte de verre camellia fur clip by Maison Gripoix and attributed to Coco Chanel, circa 1930s.
The unsigned clip is a book piece, appearing in Angie Gordon’s “Twentieth Century Costume Jewellery” (see last pic), and consists of Chanel’s iconic camellia flower created by the House of Gripoix in Paris.
It comprises lobed petals of glossy pink “pate de verre” poured glass with faint striation, and is set in silver toned wire frames, with stamens of clear faceted rose montee rhinestones, along with a creamy glass pearl at center.
