Vintage Chinese Export Silver Locket Fantail Goldfish Cloisonne Enameled Pendant
A beautiful pair of fantail goldfish swim among the delicate reeds in this lovely vintage "Chinese Export" silver cloisonné locket, with vivid glazes of jade green, orange, and white, circa 1940s.
The oval shaped double sided locket is comprised of sterling silver with gold vermeil which has tarnished over time, and features two elegant goldfish -- the traditional Chinese token of wealth -- with protruding globe eyes, in colors of vibrant tangerine orange, with soft white underbelly and black accents.
The goldfish appear on both sides of the locket, which opens up for storing photos and other mementos, and locks securely in place -- and currently contains a photo of two small children within, likely from its most recent owner.
It measures just under 1 inch wide by approximately 1&1/4 inches in length, is marked “Silver” on the bail as shown, and weighs 11.4 grams.
