Vintage Elinor Simmons for Malcolm Starr Dress Silk Paisley Sequined Gown L
Vivid colorful paisley patterns trimmed with gold embroidery and sparkling sequins are features on this vintage Mughal style silk dress by Elinor Simmons for Malcolm Starr, circa late 60s early 70s.
The elegant gown length evening dress has an East Indian Mughal styling and consists of a bisque or eggshell white silk crepe or silk blend fabric with large floral paisley style print in vibrant colors of fuchsia pink, tomato red, royal purple, turquoise blue, avocado and forest green, and saffron yellow – accented in gold embroidery and shiny gold colored sequins.
The dress has long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, mandarin style collar with decorative self covered buttons over the one shoulder, zippered back, full lining within, inside bra stays, and long side split along the left leg of the skirt as shown.
*Please note -- I can see two small and faint yellow spots on the front of the skirt, and there is a bit of yellowing of the fabric on the left back as shown. There is also some yellowing of the inside lining (see pic) but this is hidden when worn.
Otherwise, the dress remains in good condition and very wearble, with all colors remaining vibrant and intake.
There is an embroidered label for “Elinor Simmons for Malcolm Starr”.
