Vintage Snake Silk Scarf - Niki de Saint Phalle
A psychedelic polychrome snake with forked tongue, is featured on this vintage silk faille scarf by Italian pop artist Niki de Saint Phalle, circa 1990s.
The snake or serpent, known as Phalle’s logo, appears along with vivid hearts and abstract shapes in pop art colors of fuchsia pink, red, green, turquoise, royal blue, and goldenrod, over an off-white ground along with colorful border print and blue outline.
The scarf is oblong in shape with rolled and hand stitched hems, has fringed ends, and measures approximately 10&3/4 inches wide by 52 inches in length.
It is signed “Niki de Saint Phalle” and has an embroidered label for “Made in Italy” and “100% Silk”.
