Vintage 50s Poodle Bag Souré Purple Plum Velvet Dog Purse

So adorable and well designed, is this vintage poodle purse with sparkly beaded 3D dog over a plush plum velvet by Souré Bag of New York, circa 1950s.

The novelty mid-century bag has a dark rich plum or purple velvet surface, and features a high dimensional French poodle dog, made of black beads and fabric flowers – along with a little red tongue, and gold chain link with costume pearl beads comprising the leash.

It has a single black plastic hinged handle, decorative goldtoned frame and clasp, and interior vinyl lining with zippered side pocket, with a label for “Souré Bag”, “New York”.

The bag also has four brass feet or studs as shown, measures approximately 13 inches across the base and sits about 9&1/4 inches high, from frame to base (minus handle).

Very good condition – with velvet and beading clean and intact.
