Vintage Modernist Handbag Brown Satin Trim Purse
So wonderfully chic and modernist in design, is this vintage ladies handbag purse of brown cloth, similar to a faux suede, with decorative satin trim, circa late 50s early 60s.
It has a structured trapazoidal shape with single cloth handle, cinnamon brown color, goldtoned frame with lift up clasp, decorative satin flourishes in front, black textured lining with side pocket, and ticket stub within.
The bag was last used in 1965 and contains a ticket stub from the Boston Cinerama Theatre, now closed, dated April 6, 1965. Research shows that the film, “The Greatest Story Ever Told” had been playing during that time and ran for 28 weeks.
The handbag measures approximately 9&1/4 inches across the base by 9&1/4 inches with a narrow 1&5/8 inches width as shown.
