Here is a finely crafted Art Deco silver brooch from Mexico with a winged or fan shaped Mesoamerican design – possibly that of a concha or stylized maguey, circa late 30s early 40s.
The pin is hand wrought from unmarked sterling silver or higher, which is anywhere from 940 to 980 silver, and features an incised scalloped design along with raised silver domes – with larger dome at the center, and two smaller domes, top and bottom.
It measures approximately 2&3/8 inches across, by 1&1/2 inches high, has hand wrought fittings with a c-catch, weighs 15.9 grams, and is marked “Mexico” within a rectangular cartouche.
