The whimsical style of Navajo artist Darrell Jumbo (nicknamed “Elephant Man”), makes up this funny looking sterling silver fish brooch with bulging operculum eyes, circa 1990s.
The brooch is hand wrought from heavy gauge sterling silver, and features an abstract fish design with stamped circles along its body, stamped nostrils, a half moon shaped split tail, and large sized operculum shells for the eyeballs.
It measures approximately 2 inches wide at its widest point by about 2&5/8 inches from nose to extended tail fin, weighs 29.1 grams, and is signed with Jumbo’s elephant mark as shown.
