The classic Edo period woodblock print of “The Great Wave of Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai, is featured on this fine silk oblong scarf from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The vintage Japanese ukiyo-e scarf consists of a silk crepe with wave print on both ends, in graduated shades of blue, cream, and white, as well as a deep blue border print.
It measures approximately 16&1/2 inches wide by about 60 inches in length and is marked “Metropolitan Museum of Art” and also has an embroidered label for same, which also includes “100% Silk” and “Made in Japan”.
