50s Navajo Ring Sterling Silver Petrified Wood & Spondylus Indian Sioux Chief Sz 6
So finely crafted and interesting in subject is this vintage Navajo made ring featuring a Sioux chief carved from petrified wood with spondylus accent, circa 1950’s.
The handsomely made Indian ring consists of unmarked sterling silver with split shank, and a high profile carved cab of petrified a.k.a. agatized wood, in the form of a Sioux chief or warrior in profile with feathered headdress or war bonnet, and set in a sawtooth bezel with spiny oyster shell (spondylus) cab beneath.
The sterling ring is unmarked, weighs 8.3 grams, and measures a size 6 on my ring mandrel.
