So fun and swingy is this antique Chinese Export chainmail bag or coin purse, made of 850 continental silver in the flapper style of the period, circa 1920s.
The vintage articulated wristlet type purse, consists of a fine chainmail mesh, in a drawstring style with ring handle, and decorative triangular fringe with tiny silver drops along the top and bottom as shown.
It also has two larger ball weight tassels on each side, a small metal hang tag with Chinese maker’s marks and assay of “85” for 850 silver (just under Sterling), and embossed cylindrical tube shaped slide.
The bag measures approximately 4&1/2 inches wide by 4 inches in length, excluding bottom fringe.
