A beautiful natural quartz crystal ‘rough’ is featured in this antique German Jugendstil era handwrought brooch made of 800 silver, circa 1900.
The vintage turn of the century pin consists of an oval pin made of 800 silver, with Art Nouveau style leaves around a natural mineral specimen of rock crystal quartz formation with faceted points, along with a bit of the original matrix evident between the free form points.
The brooch has a high profile and measures approximately 1&1/4 inches across, weighs 6.7 grams, and is marked “Handarbeit” for handmade, along with “800” and the maker’s initials of “HP” within a free form cartouche.
