Here is an elegant and finely made vintage handbag, made of a thick black wool felt with change purse and compartments within by Coblentz, circa 1950s.
The black evening purse consists of a solid weight felt with decorative pleats, front and back. It has a circle shaped gold plated hinged clasp and single handle strap.
*PLEASE NOTE that there is a bit of wear on one side of the clasp.
It also has a satin lined interior, side pocket, zippered compartment, and an attached change purse which sits on a bar within.
The bag measures approximately 10 inches wide by 7&1/2 inches high (excluding clasp), from frame to base, and has a very faint signature for “Coblentz” which has faded over time (see last pic).
