Modernist design with fine craftsmanship makes up this elegant vintage enameled sterling necklace by Norwegian silversmith Aksel Holmsen, circa 1960s.
The articulated light weight choker length necklace, consists of slender crescent shaped panels of sterling silver with gold vermeil, glazed in a white eggshell guilloché enamel with scrolled designwork and vitreous glass finish.
It has a spring ring catch, measures approximately 14&1/4 inches in length (excluding catch), weighs 11.2 grams, and is signed “Norway” and “Sterling”, along with Holmsen’s ‘bench tools’ logo and “925S”.
