Vintage 70s Copper Sea Turtle Pendant Necklace - Artisan

A large and graceful sea turtle is depicted in this vintage artisan made pendant brooch, crafted from copper and resin, circa 1970s.

The hand-made turtle or tortoise consists of decoratively hammered copper that shows an aged patina, and features a back shell of semi-translucent resin with sparkling confetti mica within – resembling pebbles and sand underwater.

It also has three bales, and a very long copper chain that appears to be a replacement, since it will only fit through the center bail – as well as a replacement clasp as shown.

The pendant itself measures approximately 2&5/8 inches wide at its widest point, from fin to fin, by approximately 3 inches in length, from head to tail – while the chain measures approximately 19&1/2 inches in length.

The necklace in its entirety weighs 45.9 grams.
