This whimsical little horse pin is one of the classic Fred Harvey style pieces, available to railroad tourists, circa 1920s/30s.
Known as the “hopi horse pin”, it is often referred to as a dog figural as well and consists of coin silver which is 900 or greater, and hand stamped with Southwestern symbols of the period, including arrows and whirling logs.
A copy from an old catalog page featuring various Fred Harvey era horse pins is shown (see pic 4).
It measures approximately 1&3/4 inches across, and weighs 2.8 grams.
