A classical design of the ancient Greek palmette and key pattern, is featured on this finely made silk scarf from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, from 1999.
The delicate scarf consists of a semi-sheer silk crepe, with black and white floral palmette pattern in several repeats, along with a Greek key border print.
It has hand rolled and stitched hems, measures approximately 21 inches square, has an embroidered label for “Exclusively for the Metropolitan Museum of Art”, “100% Silk”, “Dry Clean Only”, “Made in China”, “Printed in Korea”, ©1999 MMA” – and is also marked along one corner, “The Metropolitan Museum of Art”.
