Vintage Guatemalan Brooch Mayan 900 Silver & Gold Pin
So nicely crafted is this vintage silver and gold brooch with Mayan motif and decorative piercework from Guatemala, circa 1950s.
The Guatemalan brooch features a Mayan deity or priest along with other Pre-Columbian symbolism, and consists of 900 silver (just under sterling) with genuine karat gold overlay. It is square in shape with tipped edges, and has an open piercework design which includes birds and human figures, along with incised decorative trim along the surface.
The brooch pin measures approximately 1&1/4 inches in size, weighs 7.2 grams, and is marked “Guatemala” and “900”.
