Vintage Taxco Dulce Demi Parure Silver Modernist Mayan Glyph Brooch & Earrings
Large and chunky Mayan glyphs in a gleaming high polished sterling silver makes up the ancient Mesoamerican design of this vintage Mexican demi parure by the Dulce Plateros of Taxco, circa 1980s.
The elegant set comprises a combination brooch and pendant with matching clip-back earrings, featuring a modernist twist on a high dimensional pre-Columbian Mayan glyphic design.
The brooch pendant is rectangular in shape, measures approximately1&1/2 inches wide by 1&7/8 inches high, and has both a pinback and bale and is signed “Mexico”, “TJ-74” and “925”.
While the earrings are clipback and measure approximately 7/8 of an inch wide by 1 inch high, and signed “Mexico”, “Dulce”, and “925”.
The demi in its entirety has a total weight of 44.3 grams.
