Vintage 30s Fred Harvey Brooch Turquoise Sterling Silver Whirling Logs Pin

Regular price $295.00

So wonderfully rustic looking yet expertly crafted, is this vibrant vintage Navajo made sterling silver and turquoise 'dead pawn' brooch with vivid turquoise stone, made during the Fred Harvey era, circa 1930s.

Also known as "railroad" jewelry which was crafted for tourists who rode the Santa Fe rail lines, the Art Deco era Native American brooch is unmarked and hand wrought from silver sheeting, with decorative embossed and incised Southwestern Indian motifs, applied “whirling logs” symbols, and bezel set with a bright Royston turquoise cab with caramel brown colored matrix.

The brooch measures 15/16 of an inch wide by 2&1/2 inches and weighs 11.4 grams.
