Vintage Givenchy Cherub & Lyre Brooch – Christmas Angel Pin
A plump little winged cherub plays the lyre in this vintage whimsical brooch by Givenchy, from their Christmas collection, circa 1980/81.
The solidly made 3D gold-toned brooch is in the form of a cherub, putti, or angel, which appears to be fluttering in mid air while playing a stringed lyre set with clear faceted rhinestones, and features curly hair and a banner around his waist.
*PLEASE NOTE – that there is a faint bit of wear to the plating on the high point of the hair and wing edge as shown.
Otherwise, the cherub remains in very good condition, and measures approximately 2 inches across at its widest point by approximately 2&1/2 inches high, weighs 34.1 grams, and is signed “Givenchy”, “Paris”, “New York” along with the double G logo, within a round cartouche.
